Planning a family break or day out on a budget? Experience Sussex has curated a selection of ideas for memorable, great‑value activities in West Sussex and East Sussex. Follow our tips for money saving days out, and low-cost holiday ideas, with a little left over to treat the family to an Ice cream or Fish and chips by the beach at the end of the day.

Sussex is filled with countryside trails, parks, national landscapes and coastline to explore, most for free. Our landscapes are for everyone to enjoy, but please remember when visiting any of the beautiful landscapes and parks in Sussex, to be mindful of wildlife and habitats and always follow paths and guidance. Parking at some sites may be limited or busy at peak times (and may incur a charge), so another great cost-effective way to explore is by public transport with bus and rail networks linking up many sites.
