Discover Sussex Winelands

Sussex wine is quickly becoming a standout in the world of English viticulture, thanks to this sun-drenched region on the south coast of England, with more than a quarter of the UK’s vineyards found here.

Known for its dry, sunny climate, Sussex offers ideal conditions for growing grapes, attracting wine lovers from near and far. The Sussex Winelands area boasts a rich tapestry of vineyards, from the historic centre of Chichester in the West, across the South Downs National Park to Lewes, and High Weald National Landscape to the quaint harbour town of Rye in East Sussex.

Sussex is home to award-winning vineyards including two of the Forbes World's 50 Best Wineries; Wiston Estate and Nyetimber. For lovers of still wine, look no further than Sugrue South Downs, their 'Bonkers' Chardonnay won Gold at the WineGB Awards in 2025. Many of the vineyards in Sussex have accommodation too, from secluded lodges to grand houses.
